NEWS:
ONEBIT SOFTWARE LAUNCHES NEW COMPANY WEBSITE
We’re proud to announce the beta version of our new website 🙂 You are looking at it NOW!
Our old website was great, but for the era of 2011 when we first founded the company. It did a fantastic job back then – it popularised our business, gave our brand a push and communicated the message that brought the company to life. Back in 2011 we positioned ourselves as a SharePoint mercenaries shop, providing some of the most technical SharePoint specialists to the market and the website did well to push that message. It was fantastic for the time and eventually the strategy grew OneBit Software to a well-recognised SharePoint delivery team.
We’re launching a new strategy and portfolio in 2016, so our old vision is history. New job positions, a new org chart, new technology – moving forward with all the fun stuff, so that’s why we also had to give birth to our new website. This is a big event for us, because it is the first time we are redoing our web presence.
Radi Atanassov, the designer of the website and our Chief SharePoint Architect, helped us define our vision:
“We want to make a website that is super-modern and extremely different from the norm. We must surprise our audience. We don’t want to fit in with the mold, we want to set the trend.”
In Radi’s view the 2015 trend seemed far too old fashioned, in fact we looked at tons of websites of similar businesses to ours and we just could find anything visually satisfying and modern, yet different. Everything surfaced trends from 2012, 2010 and older than that, and there was little to none innovation.
Our new website is based on the “parallax” effect, it works across all devices and is based on integration between Microsoft Orchard CMS and SharePoint Server. We’re using HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript libraries to pull off some cool effects. It is hosted on Microsoft Azure and uses PaaS services for most of its components. Overall, it is very fun to develop and quite an exciting learning curve. We’ve still got tons of work on it and we are updating it daily – so at this stage we still consider it a Beta build.
We hope you enjoy!
